The concept for the annual Special/General Education Collaborative Conference was derived from a conversation with Mike Gerber at UCSB. We wanted to create a context in which we could generalize, sustain, and continue to influence our teacher/graduates' learning curve and pursuit of scholarly research based best practices for serving individuals with disabilities in the most inclusive settings (school, community, work, play and home).
In this context, it was intended that we could also bring together all the critical stakeholders in assuring best and most promising practices for individuals with disabilities and their typical peers in the most inclusve settings.
